Crazyness still going on around here!  One of these days I'll have time to really keep up on here with good recipes and good shooting tips/adventures.  In the meantime.  Pray for rain in Oklahoma, make someones day with a special treat, and give a little love to someone who needs it!  My favorite way to "give a little love" is when someone is on my mind just send them a text or email or facebook message saying, "hey, thinking about you today, praying it's a great day, love you!".  Simple, easy, and it always helps brighten someones day knowing they are special (at least I think it does)!

Blessings and peace to you!

New Bovines

This is our new heifer Buttercup!  She's leary of us still but I think she'll settle down very nicely!  She was bred in June so we *should* have a calf out of her in March/April.  Looking forward to that!
She has a beautiful face!  I love it!
I think she's going to be a sweet baby, she already knows what feed is so that's always a big help in halter breaking them!
We also got McLain back.  He is a loaner bull that we will only keep for a few months to service our cows.  He is a calm giant!  Look how thick his neck is!  This is the same bull we used last year and we are so thankful that he's a gentle bull, I'm always a little leary of bulls!
He was head butting one of the cows for food. . . He did not win!  Those girls already have him whipped!

We're still in need of rain but we are amazingly blessed no matter what!  Anyway, that's news of the farm for now.

24 Sept Ladies Only Gun Class

Here's a few pics from the Ladies Only Class today!  Ladies if you were here, please post your comments/suggestions from today!  You are welcome to comment anonymous if you want too!

These girls drove close to 2 hours to get here!  Thanks girls!!!

With a little touch of the shoulder. . . .
. . . you lean forward like you're suppose to.
While waiting on your turn to shoot, I always have fun stuff to look at, like Premier Jewelry, Pampered Chef, and Thirty-One!  Makes it a little less boring while you're waiting!

Kicked backed relaxing acting all cool ;-)

Gotta love the pink head phones!  These actually have speakers that when the gun is fired it blocks out the noise but when it's not you can hear whoever is talking to you (or sitting behind you talking about you).

You're up photographer!

Great job for her first time shooting!  (I always write their name on the target and what it was they shot so they can take 3 targets home to show off!)

Sometimes I get so confused teaching these classes!  The last class I had lasted 30 minutes longer than it was suppose to because we had a 1.5 hour conversation about carry options and different carry situations.  This class was over 2 hours early because they had NO questions or discussion!  I'm not sure what to do to make it a happy medium.

P.S. For those of you keeping up with the contest we're at 10 for Sassy Shooters, 3 for True Grit Girls, 1 for Bullseye Beautie, and 1 for Powder Puff Pistoleers.

Vacation coming soon!

WOOHOO!  We have scheduled a much needed few days away! (not until Oct.)  We are going HERE!  We're hoping to ride the motorcycle but would be glad to take a car if it rains!  We'll be there for 3 days and I expect most of it will be spent on the deck looking at the water and reading a book!
If anyone knows of anything around that area that is a *must* see/do please let me know!

In other news I made 3 giant sugar cookies today for tomorrows church dessert.  For supper tomorrow night we're going to have breakfast!  Pancakes (blue berry & chocolate chip), scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, and sugar cookie!  I think the kids will really enjoy it!  I know I'm looking forward to it!

Got the house mostly cleaned up today, my only day home this week.  I still need to do some major cleaning/organizing in the pantry and spare bedroom but that will have to wait until I have more time.  I have a ladies only handgun class on Saturday and a conceal carry class on Sunday!  Looking forward to the ladies class more than the other, I always love helping a lady find a new hobby!

Speaking of hobby.  I'm going broke feeding my new S&W M&P 9mm!  J is going to have to get on the ball and reload me some good ammunition, I can't keep buying the stuff!  I bet I've put over 1000 rounds through it since I got it in August!  I'm about to get my low/left issues worked out.  I shot about 45 rounds this morning and stepped back to 10 yards instead of 7 and my group got bigger :(  Need to work on that too!  Holding a handgun steady is not an easy thing to do!

Well, over and out from here.  I need to shower and take a nap, gonna be a busy day tomorrow!

Oh here just for fun. . .J got me a new shirt last week!  It SO describes me!
Yes, it's an "ar-15" made out of kitchen tools!  A few knives, a salt shaker, cheese grater, cheese slicer, pepper mill, rolling pin, fork, funnel, cherry pitter, and lighter!  I LOVE it, it describes me so perfectly!  I have an awesome husband!
And also something funny about this shirt. . . The tag.  It says "made in the USA of 100% cotton.  machine wash cold, tumble dry low.  (the funny part) *not for use as pants.*  Really?  What would make them think you'd use this shirt as pants and why would they put that on the tag?  It makes me laugh!

Another Family Night

Had a great time again at family night hosted by Amber & Eddie for the first time!  We played croquet (I won the first game and came in 2nd the 2nd game!), threw horseshoes, and ate!  Tons of laughs and love!  Enjoyed hanging out with a few of the younger (19-20ish) cousins and horsing around with them!  My favorite comment and laugh was from my cousin Tori.  She said "if we had stick horses we could play polo".  Still makes me laugh thinking about it!
Haven't had much time for cooking or shooting the last few weeks!  Work is crazy!  Bow season starts on Oct. 1 and we've been hooked up!
I have been cooking at church on Wednesday nights, this last Wednesday was my 3rd week and we're averaging around 100 kids and youth!  I'm still on the lookout for recipes that are inexpensive but tasty that will feed that many!  I'm working on a budget of $100 a week (They said I could go over if need be but please be careful and not go over much too often).  We've had spaghetti, tacos, and pizza sticks.  I'm thinking some kind of casserole next week but haven't decided for sure yet.  I'd like to do a chicken pot pie style casserole but am afraid it will be cost prohibitive.  We'll see, we'll see.

CONTEST!!!

I'm looking for a name for my "women only gun classes" and maybe even into a "women only group" of shooters that want to meet occasionally.  So, maybe what I'm looking for is a quasi business name. . . Something I can put on a shirt (per a request of a student).

Here's the details.  In the comment section post your name suggestion.  You are welcome to post as many ideas as you want.  I'll pick the top 3 names that I like and publish them and let everyone vote.  I'll give you until Sept 18 at midnight to post your ideas and then I'll pick the top 3 and give you until Sept 30 midnight to vote on them.

The person whose idea gets the most votes will get to attend one of my womens only classes for free!

Pass the word around and help me with a creative idea!!!!

Here's the hat I've had printed to give you a little inspiration!

Work

Deer season is approaching and that means our business is *BUSY*!!!  I was going through pics from our annual and thought I'd share a few. . . There is some crazy stuff that goes on when it's busy!
I get kinda bossy around "sale time" and "busy time" so my sister (who works for me) thinks she's my slave!
What, the owner of the place actually doing something?  (he's my uncle)
We have a lot of extra help!!!!  And we are greatful!
 Haskell slacking again, nothing new!
Curtis, do you really know what your doing?
And did you eat my chocolate?  (He still owes me Dove Dark Chocolate, he found my stash in the freezer!)
Aww poor BS got his pic taken and didn't know it.
Floyd is one of the very first customers we had 43 years ago!
Shorty.  Just Shorty!  Love having her around!
The whole gang that helped out on Friday during the sale.  We were wearing our Red Shirts in honor and support of our awesome troops!  We appreciate all those and gals who are fighting for our freedom!  You guys rock!
So, we are going 150 mph and staying sorta alive.  This time is always great because we always see the ones who don't come in often!

Family Time!

Saturday night we had our monthly get together at my mom's house. . .
Caleb got the *man job* of grilling dogs and burgers.
 Doesn't he have pretty eyes!
And as requested he BURNT my hot dog!  I LOVE my dogs a bit on the crispy side!
" Men" watching the game before supper. . . BOOMER SOONER BABY!
My beautiful cousin August.  She has beautiful eyes and lovely hair.  Now, we just need a gorgeous, sweet, loving fellow for her!  Oh, and rich would probably be a plus!  Well, Christian is a given and that's just my list of what she needs, she may have more criteria than that.  lol
Aunt Jen had a birthday last month so we're having cake for her. Brooklyn wanted to make sure she got to blow out her candle!  We could only have one candle because she's so old and there is a burn ban.  bahahaha  Love ya Aunt Jen!

Brooklyn decided to go for a horsey ride!!!

 WooooHoooo hold on cow girl

Then we played skipbo. . . Brooklyn and Mom won!
 Aw my pretty sister
Tori aka TooToo (by her niece and lil cousin).  Don't mess with my tootoot
Pretty sure she LOST the card game!!!!  Hahahaha, I always win, well, except when mom and Brooklyn does.
This was the first family dinner without Cousin Pilar and Kyra and Kyson.  We missed them so much!  (They have moved to WA with Pilars hubby where he is stationed in the army).  We're proud of y'all but really miss y'all!  Looking forward to Christmas and candy making!  Love you!
